Hannah & Jamie’s February Wedding | Kalidron.Photography

Winter weddings have a special kind of magic — soft light, cosy atmospheres, and an intimacy that makes every moment feel more meaningful. Hannah and Jamie’s February wedding at Folly Farm Centre in Pensford was the perfect example of how beautiful a winter celebration can be.

As a wedding photographer, I always look forward to returning to this venue. It combines rustic charm with a relaxed countryside feel, creating an incredible backdrop for natural, emotional storytelling photography.

A Warm Welcome in the Somerset Countryside

Folly Farm Centre sits surrounded by rolling countryside just outside Bristol, offering a peaceful escape that feels both private and welcoming. Even on a chilly February day, the venue felt warm and inviting, with its stone buildings, wooden beams, and soft natural light filling the ceremony space.

Guests gathered inside the beautifully restored barn, creating a cosy atmosphere as everyone waited for Hannah’s entrance. The combination of rustic textures and elegant styling worked perfectly — simple, timeless, and focused entirely on the people and the moments.

The Ceremony – Emotional and Intimate

One of my favourite parts of the day was Hannah walking down the aisle with her father. The room felt still for a moment as Jamie saw her for the first time — a genuine, emotional reaction that perfectly captured why documentary wedding photography matters.

The indoor ceremony space at Folly Farm Centre is ideal for winter weddings. The warm tones of the stone walls and wooden ceiling beams create depth and character in photographs, while the natural window light keeps everything soft and authentic.

There’s something incredibly special about ceremonies where guests feel close to the couple, and this one was filled with smiles, laughter, and a few happy tears.

Confetti, Laughter & Winter Energy

After the ceremony, everyone stepped outside for one of the most joyful confetti walks I’ve photographed. Despite the February weather, the energy was amazing — guests cheering, confetti flying, and Hannah and Jamie laughing their way through it together.

Moments like these are always highlights because they’re completely unscripted. Real reactions, real happiness — exactly what wedding photography should preserve.

Portraits Around the Farm

Folly Farm Centre offers so many natural portrait locations within just a short walk. The rustic farm buildings, open courtyards, and countryside surroundings give couples variety without needing to travel far from their guests.

For Hannah and Jamie’s portraits, we embraced the winter atmosphere. The softer seasonal light created beautifully gentle tones, while the textures of the farm added depth and character.

Winter weddings often surprise couples with how stunning the light can be, and this day proved exactly that.

Why Folly Farm Centre is Perfect for Weddings

From a photographer’s perspective, Folly Farm Centre is a fantastic venue because:

  • The ceremony space has beautiful natural light

  • Everything is within walking distance

  • Indoor and outdoor options work in all weather

  • The rustic architecture adds timeless character

  • The atmosphere feels relaxed rather than formal

It allows couples to truly enjoy their day while giving space for natural, storytelling photography.

Hannah & Jamie — Thank You

Hannah and Jamie’s wedding was full of warmth, laughter, and genuine connection — the kind of day that reminds me why I love photographing weddings. Even in February, surrounded by winter air and countryside calm, their celebration felt incredibly alive and joyful.
